To understand the present of Violett - artistic name for Violeta Torres - and the place she has in the electronic music scene in Argentina, is required to go back a couple of years to the young Dj's pre teenage. Violett carries music in her veins because since her mother's womb, she received the piano and flute echoes that her uncle used to play in every familiar meeting, however her curiosity for sounds reached the highest point at the age of 12, when little Violeta discovered a new world when heard for the first time bands like New Order, Information Society and Camouflage among others.1.30.2009

"I was born and raised in the southern parts of Stockholm and got influences of electronic dance music from an early age, back in those days I was listening to a lot of different styles of music: Hip Hop, Disco, Funk and the early sounds of Techno Pop. My music productions have been released on my own label Armalyte Records (RIP) and German labels like Thomas Schumachers Spiel-Zeug Schallplatten and Holzplatten. Other labels in the list is Mutual Solid Cuts, Omegaritam and Metapath Recordings.Stacey Pullen @ Love NYC Tonight!

Prime Time is back at LOVE on Friday January 30th with another dance music forefather, the Kosmik Messenger, Stacey Pullen. Under the stewardship for the belleville 3 (May, Atkins & Sauderson) Stacey Pullen emerged as the next innovator in the second way of Detroit Techno and has risen to be a star of the genre DJing the world and dropping material on Transmat, KMS, R&S, Metroplex and his own Black Flag imprint as well as turning in edition 14 of the long standing Fabric mix CD series and more recently an excellent podcast for Resident Advisor.
And of course we're very happy to have him as our latest Prime Time guest.

Rejoice! Ludachrist @ Apache 1/31

...the sky would split open and a divine being would descend upon mankind wielding a battle-axe guitar. His name: "Ludachrist".
- Gn 1:1-2, 5:1-3,
However, this is no mere mash-up mix! Bangfest is the first testament in what will surely be a story of their musical inspirations, upbringing, and good vs evil. It is a painstakingly detailed collage of glitched-out vocals, beats, bass lines, guitar riffs, and synth-lines. The seamless blends, clever transitions, attention to detail, and overall musicianship, including elements of live instrumentation will immediately distance this composition from many of the mash-up artists you may know and love. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll dance, you'll sing along, and you'll pass it around to all your friends! Available on all your favorite P2P networks, blogs, etc!
- Although Ludachrist has love for mankind in general, one thing is clear, there is no room in his kingdom for out of key mash-up mixes, and sloppy programming. His mission, to slay all who oppose the total and complete rule of Ludachrist.
- 1 Cor. 13:4, 15:12-19
The live show consists of Knick and Dr. Boardman on two Macbook Pro 2.33 Ghz Laptops. running Ableton Live 7, midi controllers, turntable scratch wizardry, bass guitar & electric guitar, and an extensive library of mangled beats, vocals, riffs, and basslines all thrown together live on the spot to create a high energy, highly infectious, dancefloor destroying, megamix.
Some consider this style a religious experience, others consider it a cardiovascular workout, while still others feel that Ludachrist is more of a mental journey. How ever you choose to experience his glory, its safe to say you will be liberated from a world of mundane mixes, remixes, and mash-ups.

DML & Holger Leger - Tropical Split EP [gft net 004]
A lovely release from the German duo. A playful, dub techno release that is yet another excellent addition for this young netlabel.||||||||||||||||||||||||

It's that time of the month again...no, ladies, not that. It's Bass Recreation Society at the Bench! If you've been before, then you know the deal: some of Atlanta's best on the 80 Megaton Sound System! This isn't the glam nightclub everyone goes to that blows speakers like it's the least important thing on the agenda. Not only is the shape of the sound important to us, but making sure that sound is translated as best as it possibly can is as well. So, without further ado, let me introduce this month's lineup! For the past year, Drew Van Atten has been slamming crowds all over Atlanta, from minimal techno to booty shakin' electro. He holds a number of residencies, including MJQ's famed Fuck Yesss and Lava's newest weekly, Robots Never Rest w/Lil Steven and Chris Grass. Along with Anthony Rotella and Justin Bright, Drew is also 1/3 of Rrrump, a mega-group of electro/techno enthusiasts. With their first release, If You Want It/Twerk It, out on So Sweet Records, it seems as if the sky's the limit for this trio.
D:RC has been involved in Atlanta/Athens dance music events and promotion for the better part of the last decade. Not only has he played alongside some of the best djs in the country and out, he is one of the best djs in the country. Swiftly maneuvering through tracks and leading the listener through a glimpse of bliss. And if music production and dj'ing wasn't enough, Darcy is also quite the graphic designer. Making a long list of flyers and other designs he has produced over the years would do his craft no justice, though. Taking a short trip to Darcy's page, though, just might.

Resident Advisor 139: Disco Bloodbath
There's no tracklist at the moment for this week's Resident Advisor, but believe us...it's a banger. Less techno and more geared towards the sounds that filled NYC house clubs in the early 90s, we feel that everyone who appreciates all forms of dance music, not just minimal and techno, will enjoy this mix.++++
London's Disco Bloodbath crew get cosmic on this week's RA podcast.
The Disco Bloodbath boys have risen rapidly since starting their club night back in April of 2007. Beginning in an old Caribbean restaurant in the heart of Dalston, their effervescent mix of disco, italo and early house quickly attracted a following of clubbers that fancied a change from the usual London club night. As their popularity swelled, Bloodbath were forced to change venues multiple times due to the sheer demand for a place on their dance floor, and with The Sunday Times recently name checking them in an article about the capital's disco renaissance, it looks like their success is set to continue.
Ben Pistor, Dan Beaumont and Damon Martin, who also helps out behind the counter at Phonica Records, make up the trio and while they've hosted guests such as Lee Douglas, Thomas Bullock, Nathan Wilkins and Rune Lindbaek at their parties, on many an occasion it's the residents' sets that have managed to trump the headliner's performance. It's this mix of selection and mixing prowess that has won them countless residencies and guest slots outside of London, and this week's RA podcast highlights exactly why they've become the darlings of the city's revitalised disco scene.

Woods n Bass Podcast 5: Topper

Then, by the end of the millennium, it seemed to him that this “childhood” music was missing the point. He turned around the corner and found electronic music. Cheesy trance and muddy house at the beginning and later on, in 2001, he started to listen to electro-techno, attending never ending after-hours...
Rapidly he got in touch with more "minimal" sounds and started djing. The big shift occurred during the summer of 2005: right after taking his high-school diploma he moved to Berlin. It took some months to get into the scene, but by the end of 2005 he joined the KLANGSUCHT crew, playing at numerous underground parties, open-airs, afterhours and so on...
Nowadays he is focusing more on production: Tonimusic, Nusing home, MIRnet, 31337, Silenzio, Woods'n'Bass, Minibus, Lust und Freude, Hitbeat and Klangsucht are the playground for his first releases, waiting for next step into the sound.

Sascha Dive - Ibiza Voice Podcast
If you want to talk about truth in advertising, look no further than Sascha Dive's label Deep Vibes. Dive began the imprint in 2006 and has been releasing the deepest house he can find (or produce) ever since. Clearly, young Sascha has his finger on the pulse: along with Oslo and Cecille, Deep Vibes has quickly become one of the main engines of reviving deep house in Germany's club scene.Production-wise, Dive is nothing if not straightforward: track titles veer towards the descriptive: Deep in Rhythm, DEep, Deepest America and the music is similarly functional. On his RA podcast, you'll get much the same: Dive works his way through a 72-minute set that doesn't so much have peaks and valleys as it simply floats along with cut after cut of dark and, yes, deep vibes, whether he is spinning Dan Bell's old-school minimalism, Manny Diaz's svelte and sexy 'Sleezy, Please Me' or Moodymann's funky epics. Be prepared to get hypnotized.

Resident Advisor 138: Rene Breitbarth

Take a listen to René Breitbarth's productions, and you'll find that his original hometown has obviously had a great effect on his sound. Taking the hypnotic qualities of techno and adding the swing of classic house, there is a melodicism to his work that is unmistakably Cologne. Breitbarth fell in love with electronic music in the early '90s whilst clubbing at the city's Space and Warehouse venues, and it was his experiences there that convinced him to start producing his own tracks.
The next step for Breitbarth was the launch of the Treibstoff label with co-founder Marcel Janovsky, which they continue to run after more than ten years on the scene. Apart from his releases on Treibstoff—which include two full-lengths and countless singles—Breitbarth has contributed to labels such as Sub Static, Spectral Sound and Dessous, even proving himself as an advocate of the digital scene with the first release on Jay Haze's Textone netlabel. He's looking to carry this on with his digital-only label, Deep Data, which was launched just a few months ago.
As a DJ, Breitbarth indulges both the housier and more techno sides of his sound, and can often be found spinning marathon sets at Club der Visionäre in his new hometown of Berlin. His RA podcast offers a condensed insight into one of these sessions, featuring tracks from Masomenos, Cassy and Guillaume & The Coutu Dumonts. We caught up with Breitbarth by e-mail to ask him about the mix, Club der Visionäre and Deep Data.

[Arch049] Christian Dittmann "Pesta De Sol"

"Barrio Alto" and "Follaje" intersect and lace one's innermost altitudes with densely coated aqueous horizons wrapped up tightly in a calyx of ever changing and most beautiful form. "Feria Persa (Sunset Edit)" reaches thoroughly deeper into the frontal lobe and massages each synapse stimulating the creation of an ascoma rich with a sparkling spectrum of ovum which ceaselessly divides into still deeper forms such as "La Calle del Lado" which forms an endocarp ready to germinate into a self similar branching solidified atmosphere containing endlessly evolving copies of itself.

Netlabel of the Month! Two Circles brings us...

Two Circles has teamed up with French producer Doubting Thomas to bring you his brainchild, "Self-Definition". Compromised of six tracks, the release explores audible realms from the key infused 10 minute epic entitled "Augusta's Piano" to the bouncy rhythms of "Doubt Kills", stopping off along the way to explore the sounds of the more avant-garde side of electronica. The release fuses delicately sampled portions of everyday life with deep, hypnotic rhythms maintaining a surprisingly effective sonic image. The release is listenable the whole way through as it maintains a very prominent motif. Danceable while being thought provoking this release provides the listener with all sorts of soundscapes from across the board allowing the listener to dabble in whatever their mind's ear desires!

Resident Advisor 137: Sebastien San

When Sebastien Pastore popped up on Carl Craig's Planet E imprint last year under his moniker, it may have been a surprise to those who'd checked his previous releases on International Deejay Gigolo. The robotic funk of his earlier work had been replaced by epic Detroit-inspired modulations, but it seemed that the dancefloors weren't complaining. The endlessly building melodic techno of "Rising Sun" found its way into countless DJs' boxes over the summer, and since then he's been courted by Rush Hour and Echocord for more of his colourful techno workouts.
After spending his youth listening to funk and disco, the club culture of new wave and industrial opened Pastore's eyes to France's underground music scene. And after new beat and Chicago house started to creep into the playlists of those parties, Pastore embarked on his love affair with electronic music. Detroit techno was his next passion, and in the mid '90s he launched the now defunct Shield Records, which was responsible for releases by Kevin Saunderson, Lee Purkis and Fabrice Lig. His ongoing affection for Detroit is apparent in both his recent productions and his RA podcast, which is both dark and groovy in equal measures. We caught up with Pastore by e-mail to talk about the mix, Mad Mike and his forthcoming full-length.
