The sleek coffee bar at howell mill + marietta street is a perfect place for any type of gathering. From street art to fashion to electronic music, the setting is always intimate yet the vibe always thick. After a quick dinner at the westside Six Feet Under, we headed to Octane which seemed to already be alive and well. Threv was rockin a laptop set of some of his newest of the new. He later told me that evening that the array of sounds we had heard previously had all been created since the new year began. No space was interrupted with the elaborate setup (laptop space, turntables, keyboards and other gear), allowing for people to do as they please. The crowd was very diverse, from those on their own personal laptops finishing school work to a small party celebrating the marriage of a couple soon to be. Photography dotted the walls, from pictures of midtown Atlanta to famous graveyards in Paris, FR. Whether the sounds were experimental or uniform, the drink of choice black coffee or dark beer, it was a good time for all.
